Lefteris

Lefteris comes from Albania ; he was born in 1981 at Grams and came in Greece for the first time in 1999. At the time of the interview his worked as a 'Factory cleaner'.

Summary:

The interview was conducted in the university building. Lefteris came to Greece in 1999 in order to work, make some money and then return to Albania. He first arrived in the northern Greek town of Veria; then he went to Almiros where he lived for three years working in the fields. Now he lives in Volos and is employed as a factory cleaner. He lives with his cousin in a rented house. He has both Greek and Albanian friends. He is a Muslim, as most of the people in Grams where he comes from, but he is not particularly interested in religion. He wants to get married and have children. During the interview he talks about his family, his job and relations with his employer and his co-workers, marriage, the practice of matchmaking and women´s virginity, gender relations, and the political situation both in Greece and in Albania.
