Agron

Agron comes from Albania ; he was born in 1975 at Fier and came in Greece for the first time in 1991. At the time of the interview his worked as a 'Waiter in a restaurant'.

Summary:

Agron dreamed of living independently from the time he was a young boy. That is why he had attempted to run away from his home many times. In 1991 he came to Greece for the first time. The second time he came to Greece the police picked him up and he had to stay at a migrants´ concentration camp in Igoumenitsa. He returned to Albania and after some time he decided to come to Greece for the third time. This time he came with friends who had visas. He changed his name and came to Volos, where some people he knew were living. Agron has changed many jobs and places of residence. For the last eleven years he has lived in Volos, where he works in a restaurant. Since 1998 he has a work and residence permit. Agron socialized mostly with Greek people. He is engaged and planning to marry an Albanian girl, whom he met through his brother. He dreams of visiting and living in different countries. He doesn´t want to return to Albania. During the interview some interesting issues came up concerning the communist system and religion.
