Elli

Elli comes from Bulgaria ; she was born in 1987 at Haskovo and came in Greece for the first time in 2002. At the time of the interview her worked as a 'Assistant in a restaurant'.

Summary:

The interview was conducted in the university building. Elli came with her family to Greece by car. She had heard some nice things about Greece from her grandmother who had come here in the mid 1980s to work. Her parents are divorced; her father lives in Bulgaria while Elli lives in Volos with her mother and her brother. Some of the main issues discussed in the interview concern: language, the journey to Greece and Elli´s first positive impression of Greece, her views on Bulgaria, her good working experience, her friendships, entertainment, gender relations, her views about racism and stereotyping, her communication with her home country, her relation to religion and her future plans.
