Summary:

Besi is from Tirana and he is 28 years old. In Albania he attended a music school but he didn´t manage to complete his studies. His parents owned a patisserie at the centre of Tirana, but after the downfall of communism they had to sell it due to money problems. They invested the money from the sale in the so-called pyramid schemes and so they lost all their capital. He came to Greece, where his sister was already living, in order to see the country. He initially worked in construction, but didn´t like that kind of work. He also lived for a period in Athens where he was working as a musician in nightclubs, as well as in construction. Currently he is a house painter and in the evenings he also attends a technical school. His desire is to finish his studies and work as a musician. He doesn´t intend to return to Albania. He wants to get married and have a family. However, he says he does not want to get married to a Greek woman. Some of the main issues discussed in the interview concern: his family and gender relations, the 1997 unrest in Albania that took place when he was in the army, the communist period and the feelings of seclusion, and finally religion.
