Stefka is 54 years old and she was born in Tsertan near the city of Plovdiv. She came to Greece in 2000 with the help of a firm that arranges the migration of people from Bulgaria to Greece, and helps them to find a job in Greece. Stefka is married and has two children who live in Bulgaria. In the interview she talks a lot about her parents. He father was not a fan of communism. He worked in the construction sector while her mother worked in an agricultural co-operative. Her father had refused to hand over his property to the regime. This fact stigmatized Stefka´s biography and, therefore, Stefka couldn´t enroll in university. However, she attended a technical school and later worked as an accountant. She talks about the communist period referring both to the positive and negative aspects of it, the education system, the festivals, the entertainment and the political instability after the regime´s downfall. She also speaks about the present situation in Bulgaria and explains why people decide to migrate. Finally she talks about her relation to religion and about her interest in magic. During her free time she meets with other Bulgarian women who live and work in Volos. They gather in a central park to talk about work issues. She visits her country once a year.
