Florin

Florin comes from Albania ; he was born in 1969 at Kushnen (near Shkondre) and came in Greece for the first time in 1992. At the time of the interview his worked as a 'Stone craftsman'.

Summary:

The interview was conducted at the informant´s home. Florin was born in Northern Albania, in a village near the city of Shkoder. His family has ten members. He studied at the University of Elbasan and holds a teaching degree. At the time of the interview he lived in Volos with his sister. He is not married. He is a stone craftsman and he undertakes construction work. Some of the main issues discussed in the interview concern: his family history, the communist past, gender relations, education, his experiences at school and leisure activities during his teenage years, the transition period, his decision to migrate and the journey to Greece, the first period of his time in Greece, work, the media and the public discourse on Albanian migrants, gender roles and relations among Albanian migrants living in Greece, the role of religion in his life and his views on this issue.
