Natasha

Natasha comes from Albania ; she was born in 1967 at Lushne and came in Greece for the first time in 1993. At the time of the interview her worked as a 'Domestic helper'.

Summary:

The interview was conducted at the informant´s home. Natasha is 38 years old; she is married and has two children. She came to Greece in 1993, in order to be with her husband who had already come here to work. In Albania she was a teacher. Currently she works as a domestic helper. Some of the main issues discussed in the interview concern: her motives to migrate, the difficulties of the first settlement period in Greece, her social contacts and her friends, family gatherings, racist attitudes towards her in the workplace and towards her son in the school, her ties to her country of origin and her desire to return home.
