Summary:

The interview was conducted in the university building. In 1998 Yorgos came with his mother to Greece, where his brother was already living. Later on, his father and his sister migrated too. He enrolled in a Greek school, but he dropped out in the first year of high school because he wanted to learn a craft and start working. Since then he has changed many jobs, and currently is working in the construction sector. Some of the main issues discussed in the interview concern: his migration motives, the transition period of 1997 in Albania, the journey to Greece, racist attitudes in the school environment, his work experiences in Greece (working hours, wages), his relations with his employers and co-workers, his leisure activities, gender relations and marriage, the migrants´ legalisation process and his baptism.
